Funk Futures is assisting a venture-backed seed stage company that is seeking to immediately hire a Sales Development Representative to lead the continued efforts in new client business development and opportunity creation of a new compliance and business intelligence platform that is the only company to help energy companies prepare their government reports quickly and easily while also instantly comparing themselves to their peers using modern data analytics. Our demand is driven by a government mandate from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) which requires all energy companies to report electronically.

The company is comprised of a small team and is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. The position can be remote.  

 

REQUIREMENTS

​​

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic, and ever-changing environment

  • Ability to build relationships and partnerships that move our business forward

  • You see feedback or failure as motivation to learn and to grow

  • A startup mentality as a resourceful self-starter with clear bias for action and results

  • 1-3 years of experience in an SDR or BDR role in B2B sales

  • Ability to connect with people online, on the phone, and face-to-face

  • Experience with sales tools like HubSpot, ZoomInfo, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator

  • 4 year degree in any major

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute a Business Development plan to drive opportunity creation

  • Refine and optimize the outbound strategy for engaging cold leads using email, phone, events, and social

  • Qualify inbound and outbound opportunities and explain the HData solution to new prospects, including senior and C-suite executives in the Oil & Gas and Utilities industries

  • Create a reliable and consistent lead funnel for our business development team and manage/maintain within HubSpot

  • Collaborate with marketing on campaigns from ideation to execution, management and follow up

  • Identify, research, and prospect potential clients

  • Develop industry and domain expertise to increase your chances for success
